BeeBridge
Project Description
BeeBridge – Strengthening Beekeepers’ Intergenerational Connections is an Erasmus+ project designed to strengthen the beekeeping sector by promoting knowledge exchange and cooperation between different generations of beekeepers.
Beekeeping is a traditional activity that combines agricultural knowledge, practical skills, environmental awareness and local cultural heritage. However, the sector is facing important challenges related to the ageing of experienced beekeepers, the transmission of traditional knowledge and the need to attract and support new generations entering the profession.
BeeBridge aims to create stronger connections between experienced and younger beekeepers by facilitating the transfer of knowledge, skills and practical experience across generations. The project will support the development of innovative vocational education and training approaches that respond to the current and future needs of the beekeeping sector.
Through cooperation between educational institutions, agricultural organisations and other relevant stakeholders, BeeBridge will develop learning opportunities and resources that encourage intergenerational learning and make beekeeping more accessible and attractive to new generations.
The project also recognises the important contribution of beekeeping to biodiversity, sustainable agriculture and the protection of pollinators. By strengthening the professional and educational capacities of beekeepers, BeeBridge aims to contribute to a more resilient and sustainable European beekeeping sector.
